Writing
I have a weblog take one onion which I update when I have a moment. Why did I choose that name?
This page lists some of the other writing I've done, from longer essays to haiku to freelance journalism.

Haiku
I enjoy writing haiku, I discovered this when writing descriptions on my phone to go with photos I was sending to flickr. I was using Nokia's LifeBlog software and something about the sms mindset made me compact in my writing. So I started writing haiku as descriptions. Andrew Lowosky's flicktion and an art project poems by sms had an influence too
Now I mainly write them in my Moleskine on the tube or on flights, I like the playing with words and trying to capture the moment. Below is one I wrote last summer when it had been baking hot, then unaccustomed rain fell. There are more tagged haiku in my flickr photostream.
Water falls from sky Odd, hose pipes are banned Ah rain, all too brief
