Welcome
I'm Gavin Bell, I design social software, shaping the “why and what” of web applications, as opposed to the how it works or what it looks like. I've a background in psychology, which enourages me to think in terms of individuals, groups and systems.
I'm writing a book for O'Reilly on creating social software and web communities.
Some things I'm thinking about at the minute: refurbishing my Victorian terrace house; watching my son grow up; building social software; issues around publishing historical documents in context; long term identity on the internet; and green computing.
Have a look at the pictures, projects or presentations or anything else that takes your fancy.
Upcoming speaking engagements
